In September 2026, ROBUST prepared a batch of cemented carbide round discs with center holes for courier shipment to a customer in India.
The parts were manufactured to drawing requirements, with inspection focused on the dimensions and features that directly affect assembly.
Dimensional Inspection Before Shipment
Each disc was checked for outer diameter, thickness and center-hole tolerance.
The center hole is a functional assembly feature, so the inspection focused not only on the overall disc size but also on whether the hole met the specified dimensional requirement.
Sharp edges were deburred during processing to support safer handling and proper assembly.

Individual Protection Against Chipping and Scratching
Cemented carbide offers very high hardness and wear resistance, but finished parts still need protection from impact during transport.
Each disc was separated with soft spacer material to prevent direct contact between working surfaces.
The protected parts were placed in rigid inner boxes and then packed into reinforced outer cartons for courier transportation.

Why Inspection and Packing Matter for Carbide Parts
For precision carbide components, a small dimensional error can affect assembly, while edge impact during transportation can cause chipping even when the material itself is highly wear resistant.
That is why the shipment was checked again before dispatch, with attention to hole dimensions, overall size, edge condition and packaging protection.
ROBUST manufactures cemented carbide discs and other drawing-based wear components for cutting, forming, sealing and industrial machinery applications.
